To avoid rejection, carefully examine the gold jewelry item(s) you wish to sell under magnification and confirm the items have Hallmarks (numbers or letters or symbols) that indicate the quality of gold used to manufacture the item. For example, American manufactured goods typically are marked 10K, 14K, or 18K; European goods, with numbers 417, 585, or 750… These indicate the fineness, the item is solid, and not plated gold.

Note: If you have gold item(s) that are unmarked, but have reason to believe they are solid gold, but the Hallmarks have worn off because the item is very old, or just a fragment, or soldered over because the piece was resized or repaired or is of foreign origin with unusual markings which you cannot interpret, you may submit them for a FREE assay. We test all gold items received. If your item tests out as karat gold we will credit your account accordingly. If not, we will immediately notify you and explain why it is not.
